SVETI VLAS
Sveti Vlas is located at the foot of the southern slopes of the Balkan mountain, right next to the Black Sea coast. The location of Sveti Vlas between mountain and sea makes the climate very suitable for the treatment of various diseases.
Sveti Vlas is a beautiful coastal town with about 3000 inhabitants, situated just 5 km north of Sunny Beach resort and 9 km from Nessebar. The location of this resort is in the busiest tourist area in Bulgaria.

History
Sveti Vlas was founded in the second century A.D. by ancient Thracians and is one of the oldest settlements in the municipality of Nessebar. Then it bore the name of Larisa. In the 14th century the setlement took the name of St. Vlasiy - patron of traders, farmer, healer.
There was a monastery which existed during the period between 14th and 18th century, on behalf of the saint, but later it was burned and destroyed from the countless pirates. St. Vlas is a saint revered by Catholic and Orthodox Church.
During the XIVth century in the town were built around five monasteries: St. Peter's, St. Elijah, St. Andrew, St. Vlas, who gave the nowadays name of the town, and the locals nunnery called St. Anna. " All of them have been destroyed in XVIII century, but individual remains can still to be found.
After the Liberation from the Ottoman rule, the village name was changed to St. Vlas. This name is officially leading in state records after 1886.
In 1963 was named Vlas – the climate resort.
In 2006 the village of Sveti Vlas officially became a town with decision taken from the Council of Ministers.
In 2007, in Sveti Vlas was founded the biggest yacht port in Bulgaria - Marina Dinevi with a capacity for 300 yachts.
Transport
There is regular bus transport from Nessebar, Sunny Beach and Bourgas to St. Vlas, and many private minibuses, route and ordinary taxis. There is also a boat-taxy transport to Nessebar, Bourgas and Sunny Beach. Bourgas International Airport is located only 20-30 minutes away from St. Vlas and it serve by international carriers and charter airlines from throughout Europe.
